The Hong Kong Red Cross Hospital Schools is the only school that provides classroom teaching in hospitals. Our students are facing different hardships in illness; some of them are facing misery that is brought by pain; some of them are suffering from long treatments; some of them are facing fear from uncertainty. As teachers in hospital schools, we want to witness the recovery of students’ mental and physical health more than their excellent academic performance. We hope the students learn to face adversity with love, and the presence of a companion. We worry and walk together with the students in illness, and let them know that they are not fighting alone. Giving hope in the darkness and enabling students to move forward. It is the hospital teachers’ hope to walk with the students in life’s narrow way and witness their walk on the road of recovery.
