During the development cycle from 2023 to 2026, our school actively introduces innovative technologies to break traditional teaching frameworks. This ensures that students, even while confined to their beds due to illness, can still experience rich and meaningful learning opportunities.
The Secondary Integrated Science Team is leading the Science Education Key Learning Area subjects to collaboratively create the "HS LAB" virtual reality laboratory. Through VR technology, this initiative opens an immersive science exploration journey for hospitalized students. Students can conduct operations in a simulated environment, build scientific concepts, and stimulate their inquiry spirit through interactive experiences.
Examples of VR Experiments:
Subject | Content |
---|---|
Primary Science | Physical and chemical changes |
Secondary Integrated Science | Dissecting various fruits and vegetables |
STEAM (with Physics) | Friction and vehicle movement |
Biology | Dissecting a flower |
Chemistry | Properties of petroleum distillates |
Physics | Position and movement |
The Civic and Social Development Team is leading the Personal, Social, and Humanities Education Key Learning Area subjects in implementing the "Virtual Reality Learning Activities on Chinese Culture" from 2023 to 2025.
This initiative allows students to immerse themselves in virtual experiences at locations such as the Longping Rice Museum, the Maijishan Grottoes, and the Anyang Yin Ruins. Students appreciate the rich heritage of Chinese culture and explore the diverse aspects of national development.
Teachers complement the virtual reality activities by using worksheets to guide students in thinking and expression, thereby enhancing learning effectiveness.
In recent years, our school has continuously explored new tools to enhance care and support for students with Severe and Multiple Disabilities (SMD). Since the 2023-2024 academic year, we have purchased eye-tracking devices to assist students with physical paralysis and loss of speech in controlling computer screens with their eyes. This technology facilitates interaction between teachers and students and enhances learning effectiveness.
The eye tracking devices accurately monitor students' gaze, allowing teachers to understand their attention focus and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. More importantly, these devices enable students to express their thoughts through eye movements, fostering interaction and ensuring they are truly "seen" in the classroom.
